e-bike Financing, Rebates, and Tax Credits
The current landscape of incentives, financing options, and how to stack them.
e-bikes are a meaningful investment. There are more ways to soften the cost than most buyers realize.
Financing
We offer Affirm financing on bikes from $700 to $30,000: 6 months at 0% APR, or 12 or 24 months with APR starting at 10%. Pre-qualify in 60 seconds, see your rate before you commit.
Federal and state programs
Several state-level rebate programs offer $500-$1,500 toward e-bike purchases. Arizona does not currently have a statewide rebate, but check your utility, some power companies offer e-bike incentives as part of energy efficiency programs.
Employer commute benefits
Some employers offer pre-tax commuter benefits that apply to e-bikes. Ask your HR department.
Trade-ins
Trade your old bike (e-bike or regular) toward a new one. Stop by for a quick appraisal.
How Affirm financing works at PedalJets
For bike purchases between $700 and $30,000, you can pay over time with Affirm. Qualified buyers can choose 6 months at 0% APR, or longer 12- and 24-month plans with interest starting at 10% APR. You see the exact monthly payment and total cost before you agree, and there are no hidden fees or surprise compounding.
Applying takes a few minutes, either online at checkout or in the shop. Checking your eligibility will not affect your credit score. Financing is available on purchases that include a bike, and accessories bought along with your bike can be part of the same plan.
A quick example
Say you choose a $2,000 e-bike. On the 6-month, 0% plan, you would pay about $333 per month and nothing extra in interest. On a 12-month plan at 10% APR, your payment would be about $176 per month. The longer plan costs more overall but keeps the monthly payment smaller. Your actual rate depends on Affirm's approval, so use our financing calculator on any bike page for a personalized estimate.
Is financing a smart move?
If an e-bike replaces car trips, it can start paying for itself quickly. Fewer short drives mean less gas, less wear on your car, and sometimes less money spent on parking. For many riders, a monthly bike payment is smaller than what they were spending on those short drives. The 0% plan is especially appealing because you spread out the cost without paying anything extra.
That said, only finance what fits your budget comfortably. A great commuter at a sensible price will serve you far better than a stretch purchase that adds stress every month.
Rebates and incentive programs
E-bike incentive programs come and go, and they vary a lot by state and city. Some places have offered point-of-sale rebates or income-based vouchers, while others have none. Arizona does not currently have a statewide e-bike rebate. Before you buy, it is worth checking your city and your utility provider's website. Programs sometimes open with little notice and close once funding runs out.
Employer and commute benefits
Ask your HR department whether your employer offers commuter benefits, wellness stipends, or green-commute incentives. Some companies will reimburse part of a bike purchase or offer a monthly allowance for riders. Even if there is no formal program, many employers are open to adding secure bike parking or showers once a few people start riding in.
Trade-ins and upgrading
If you already own a bike, ask us about it when you visit. Depending on its condition and the model, we may be able to put its value toward your new e-bike. At the very least, we can give you advice on selling it yourself.
Make the most of your purchase
- Earn loyalty points on every purchase: 1 point for every $1 spent.
- Use your free Basic Tune-Up within six months to keep the bike running like new.
- Bundle the essentials, like a helmet, lock, and lights, at the time of purchase so they are part of one plan.
- Remember the 30-day return window if the bike is not right for you.

Common financing questions
Can I pay off early? Yes. Affirm does not charge prepayment penalties, so you can pay off your plan early and save on interest on longer plans. Do I need perfect credit? No. Affirm considers more than your credit score, and checking your options will not affect it. Can I finance accessories alone? Financing is available on purchases that include a bike, so add accessories at the time you buy your bike.
Whatever you choose, we will walk you through the options in plain language so you can pick the plan that fits your budget without pressure.
