Dr. David T. Hon was a laser physicist at Hughes during the 1970s. When the oil crisis hit, he turned his physics background toward a cleaner way to get around and built DAHON’s first folding bike in 1982.
Four decades later he’s called the “Father of Modern Folding Bicycles,” and more than 95% of folding-bike brands use DAHON’s patented technology.
